Anxiety
A normal and commonly felt human emotion with a clear purpose: to protect and keep us safe. However, it can often go into ‘overdrive’ and negatively affect our mental and physical health.
It is very closely linked with depression and is characterised by feelings of dread or uneasiness which can range from mild to severe. It can also have a profound effect on our physical health with symptoms ranging from an elevated heart rate to digestion issues.
It can sometimes be hard to identify where the feeling has come from or what it is directed towards.. If it starts affecting your life on a daily basis then it may be time to seek some support. Like so many distressing feelings anxiety often thrives, and is further fuelled, when it is left unexposed and unspoken about. Counselling offers a safe and supportive environment to explore the roots of our anxiety and find a way to manage and incorporate it into our lives in a healthy manner.
