About Me – Harriet Bilotto
I am a qualified, insured and experienced Person-Centred counsellor (Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling). This is a widely used and respected form of talking therapy (developed in the 1950s by Carl Rogers) which holds the central belief that everyone holds the key to their own growth and ways of coping with difficulties. It is very much a non-directive form of therapy, allowing us to explore your issues at your pace and for you to focus on what is important to you.
I strongly believe in empowering my clients to discover their own abilities to grow and feel fulfilled in life; as the name suggests, the therapy is focused on you, the client, and respects you as being the ‘expert’ on your life. We are all unique, and I work to explore with you what you think will be the most productive way for you to move forward. The therapy is considered to be effective for a wide range of issues, some of which are discussed in a bit more detail below.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I work within their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. Essentially this means that I will work in your best interests at all times and will place you at the forefront of our relationship. As part of this commitment I undertake regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and I have regular supervisory sessions with a highly experienced counselling supervisor.
I also hold a current Disclosure and Barring Service certificate (DBS).
In addition to my practice at Horsham Therapy Rooms I work part-time for a counselling charity in Surrey and I am also a volunteer bereavement/anticipatory bereavement counsellor at St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley, West Sussex.

Experience
I am an experienced, qualified and insured counsellor seeing private clients face to face or via online video call. In addition, I am a volunteer counsellor at St. Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley and I have also had experience as a Bereavement Volunteer with Cruse Bereavement.
Fees
I charge £58.00 per 50 minute session whether face to face or online. For those on benefits, and students, I am able to offer a reduced rate of £45. I am happy to offer a ‘no obligation’ 15 minute call to see if you would feel comfortable and confident working with me and and that I am the most appropriate person for you to be seeing
