Bereavement & Loss Counselling

I am an experienced bereavement counsellor and I am passionate about supporting people through one of the most challenging and universal experiences we can face in life.

Conversations regarding any type of loss can still be shied away from in daily life and yet loss is always part of life and talking about our feelings and experiences is one of the key factors in how well we navigate and move through the process of grief.

In most cases people will naturally navigate the grief process but if extra support is needed then it is vital to feel heard and understood without judgment.

Counselling cannot bring back who or what we have lost.  However, it provides an important space for the bereaved to explore their feelings without judgment and to perhaps start the process of tentatively exploring the future with a new relationship with their loved one.  Death can take the physical presence but the relationship can still exist in a different way.

Many people live with what is known as ‘anticipatory bereavement’ or the knowledge that our loved one is dying and that at some point in the future this will become a reality.  Again, this can be an incredibly hard experience but with the right support it can help us to navigate a difficult and often distressing process.

There are many things we can do to help manage our feelings at this time and one of the most important things is that we don’t feel inhibited in expressing those feelings.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me to see how I may help.  There is no obligation with this call and I will be led by what you feel is right for you.
